New sign ups

We would like to welcome Bluff Point Primary School, Hon. Martin Aldridge MLC, Laurie Graham MLC, Darren West MLC, Centacare, CSIRO Geraldton branch and the Northern Agricultural Catchments Council to the Community, Respect and Equality Agreement! It is a joy to see such a broad range of organisations and businesses signing up to say that #ViolenceIsNEVEROk. Have a read below of why they decided to sign up, in their own words.

“NACC has joined other like-minded organisations to promote the Community, Respect and Equality (CRE) Agreement to assist in spreading the message that violence in any form is never okay. NACC’s values – passion, collaboration, professionalism, leadership, respect, accountability, excellence and impartiality closely align with the CRE Agreed values & Codes of behaviour.” ~NACC, 2019

“Centacare Family Services provides wraparound services for clients (including our community’s most vulnerable) accessing family law services. We believe it is vitally important to protect vulnerable children and adults, especially where there is or has been family violence. By way of our endorsement of the Community Respect Equality Agreement, we look forward to working with community towards ensuring safety for all.” ~Centacare, 2019

New Resource

“Fast Facts: Impacts of family domestic family violence” is a new resource by ANROWS, found here: https://www.anrows.org.au/resource/fast-facts-impacts-of-family-domestic-family-violence/

This second edition of the fact sheet draws on new data published in June this year by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) in Family, domestic and sexual violence in Australia: continuing the national story 2019.  The fact sheet provides an analysis of risks, prevalence, support services, and the impacts of family, domestic and sexual violence.  This may be useful for organisations and businesses to include in their induction or education packages for staff.

Upcoming conference in Perth

Organisations and businesses may be interested in the upcoming “Intersectionalities in Domestic Violence Conference 2019” being held in Perth on 15-16th October.  The conference is hosted by Stopping Family Violence and the Women’s Council for Family and Domestic Violence Services and will discuss the strengths and challenges of delivering FDV informed practice across a broad spectrum of services.  This may be of interest to some organisations who have signed up to the CRE Agreement.

When: 14 – 16 October 2019

Where: Crown Hotel Perth, Burswood
