Celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 by showcasing your creativity in the Community, Respect & Equality (CRE) Art and Photography Competition! This exciting competition encourages participants of all ages to express their vision of a future where women and girls thrive equally.

Theme
March forward to an equal future for all women and girls. Thirty years ago, the world committed to a bold vision for gender equality through the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. So we want to celebrate the progress we have made in Marching Forward to a gender equal world.

Event Schedule
Public Viewing: Friday, 7 March 2025, at the DBC Studio Studio (entry via 28 Durlacher St), Time TBC.
Winner Announcement: Saturday, 8 March 2025, via the CRE Facebook page.

Terms and Conditions

  • Entries are to be submitted along with a signed entry form in person at 25 Chapman Rd, Geraldton by 4pm Friday the 28th February, 2025.
    Entry is restricted to residents of Geraldton and the Midwest.
  • Limit of one entry, per person.
  • All ages are welcome to enter however entrants under the age of 18 will require permission from a parent or guardian.
  • Art Mediums are limited to Photographic, Sculpture, Watercolour, Acrylic, Pencil, Oil or Charcoal.
  • Entrants must submit an original work of art or image reflecting upon the IWD 2025 theme – March forward to an equal future for all women and girls. For further information about IWD and this year’s theme, please head to unwomen.org
  • Please note there is a strict size limit to ALL entry mediums. Entries must not exceed A3 paper size measures 297 × 420 mm or 11.7 × 16.5 inches and photographic entries must be minimum 300 DPI.
  • Please do not sign or have any identifying information on the front of your entry pieces, as judging will take place anonymously. You may sign or place your name on the back, or CRE can supply a removable sticker to write your name.
  • By entering the competition, you are permitting CRE to display your piece in Desert Blue Connect Town Office for public viewing, and images of the piece on the CRE & DBC websites and social media platforms to celebrate IWD and gender equality.
  • Entry pieces will be available for collection from the 17th of March, 2025.
    Winner will be selected according to artist merit and interpretation of the competition theme by an independent judge. Judge’s decision is final.
