The Community Respect and Equality Community Champions Pilot
Community, Respect and Equality (CRE) Community Champions are local leaders who promote messages about family violence in Geraldton by being visible, approachable and attending awareness events and activities.
Funded by the WA Police, Community Crime Prevention Fund and is project managed by Desert Blue Connect, the Community Champions Pilot Project is an identified action in Phase 1 of the Community, Respect and Equality Strategic Action Plan for Primary Prevention of Violence.
The CRE Community Champions are volunteers who are active in their community. Our first round of recruitment has seen some very enthusiastic and community minded people come forward and take on a Community Champion role. Following training and with support and mentoring, CRE Community Champions spread the CRE messages “respect rules” and “violence is NEVER ok” along with their own messages to promote a violence free community.
We acknowledge the CRE Community Champions and the brilliant work they are doing to make change in our community.
